Two centers
Yes, we can say that there were 2 centers in Chernigov. One is historical center located at the Rampart, the other is a trade square with Piatnitskaya church on the middle of it. At the time of Kievan Rus there used to be a big trade center, and church was located there. Chernigov was located on the cross points of many trade ways. It was named after St. Paraskeva Piatnitsa, the patron of trade. The church is open for visitors, conducts services. This is a unique architectural monument built in the end of the 12th- beginning of the 13th centuries.
